- 5/5 - The Guardian - "A quite scintillating success!"

- 5/5 - Adventure Gamers  - "Don't miss the boat on inkle’s glorious adventure!"

Gameplay
Overboard! is a tense, highly replayable detective game from the creators of 80 Days and Heaven's Vault.

Blackmail a spy. Fall in love. Murder a rival. Cheat at cards. Drug a witness. Lie, befriend, betray, console, sneak, seduce, steal, borrow, pray, eavesdrop, kill...

There are clues, evidence, suspects, accusations, secrets and lies.

You’ll need all your cunning, coercion and charisma to ensure that someone else takes the fall.

Dynamic Narrative Clockwork

  • Next-gen visual novel: go where you want, when you want, and say what you want
  • Simulated story-world: other characters move and act independently, remember everything they see and hear, and everything you do
  • Every minute counts: you have eight hours to escape justice. Time is always ticking
  • Who can you trust? Some characters are friendly, and some are out to get you. Who will you befriend? And who will you betray?

Built using the award-winning ink narrative engine, Overboard!'s narrative twists itself around every choice you make.

Play once for a thrill, or multiple times to uncover all the secrets and achieve an ideal ending.

One play-through lasts about 30 - 45 minutes, but achieving the perfect crime run will take a lot longer.

My detailed written blog post about Overboard! is at this linkhttps://mrdavepizza.com/overboard-genre-twisting-inkle-whodunnit-review/ Overboard! is such a romp upon the seas, such fun. I wasn't sure if I was going to like a murder mystery game, but the game has nothing but charm. I love how it plays like a classic whodunnit with all the nuances of an indie game in it. I don't typically critique "worth it" value, but the game is memorable and replayable, so it definitely is. The choices-matter gameplay is legit and every character has lots of depth.  One of the top games I ever played.

Ok this game is challenging, but also kind of addicting. Also, I did pick this game up on iOS (mobile) instead of PC. I honestly think this is better off as a mobile game

will it be available for mac

I love the visuals of this game and the art style, but $15 is too much for half an hour gameplay.

The game is likely a great game and I look forward to playing it soon! The one thing that really grinded my gears a bit was the message that's splayed out for all ages to see (consider this for a moment):

Absolutely loved the game. I love 'groundhog day' looping games, and this was so much fun. These types of games are so rare, and Overboard! pulled it off perfectly.

do you have a soundtrack, or list of songs? the choices are fantastic

Do you have plans to release a Linux version?  If this is made in Unity it's just an export away.

given a notification that the file was damaged and unable to be opened (mac version).

UPDATE: This seems to be bug in Unity / Apple’s code-signing, so we’re pulling the Mac build for now. If you’ve bought a broken copy, please let us know (info@inklestudios.com) with some proof of purchase and we’ll supply a Steam key (the Mac version on Steam is fine, for some magical reason). Apologies again.
